So over the weekend I decided to take some photos of my younger sister, Molly.
I'm currently borrowing the 100mm f2.8 macro lens from a kind friend and I'm so obsessed with it.
It is amazing…. To say the least.
I dont photograph molly as much as I once did when I first started, which I miss.
It was refreshing to do something so personal again, also photographing someone whom I'm so close with, I find makes a huge difference in translating across ones character.
I always relate to taking photos of molly as "child portraits" it felt so strange to me when taking these I remembered the child like face that once stared back into my lens and how it is now so grown up and mature.
P.S The outfit she picked out are all of my clothes!
Beautiful series, seriously! Are these film or not?
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteNo it's not, I created this using dust from one of my underexposed film shots.
You always know how to bring out the already present beauty in everything and make it extraordinary, Caitlin.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful work!
Thank you! :) :)
DeleteReally beautiful set :)
ReplyDeleteWow! these photos are so beautiful and inspiring :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful collection of photographs! She looks so young and precious but grown up; truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour younger sister is beautiful! And I love how you captured her, the colors and the tones and everything (she has beautiful eyes as well).
ReplyDeleteAnd wow, 100mm? Sounds like a good lens, though I can't work with such close lenses. ):
Good to hear that it was refreshing to do this, something closer to home and I agree, it definitely does. :) And I love her clothes!
Makes me wish I had an older or younger sister. ):
Thanks for the kind words, Tori! Yep I always thought I would find this type of lens zoomed specially when my main lens (50mm) is half the focal length but it really didn't bother me all too much :)
DeleteThese are beautiful!

Beautiful pictures, I love them !
ReplyDeleteThese are so lovely Caitlin... The way you've edited them is really gorgeous. The one where Molly is holding the leaf over her head which perfectly matches her eyes is so stunning. What a beautiful sister you have!

These are stunning! I've found the same whilst photographing my sister - you don't notice the little changes until you photograph them again and then BAM they're a whole year older! Anyway, beautiful photographs as usual <3
ReplyDeleteShe is so beautiful! Such a little fashion model. =)
